Building a platform from scratch
Imagine the hustle of filtering sales leads, customizing product demos, and scheduling follow-up meetings with clients all replaced by a 24/7 AI assistant. To understand the role of conversational AI voice assistants, I conducted extensive competitor research and interviewed several sales experts to gain insights into the essential elements of the sales process.
Based on my research and a prioritized list of features, I began designing the platform. The work started with creating wireframes and hi-fidelity prototype, which I later used to test the approach and refine the information architecture.
Simplifying workflow creation
One of our primary challenges was, "How might we simplify workflow creation?" Through user research, we found that most of our target users are neither tech-savvy nor familiar with AI tools. This insight highlighted the need for an intuitive and user-friendly design that accommodates users with varying levels of technical expertise.
Our initial approach involved streamlining the process by grouping setup forms, making it easier for users to fill out customized fields. We divided the setup into three guided steps, helping users learn all the settings along the way.

We took the workflow creation a step further to fully customize the AI assistant. Users need to create an entire flow to guide the AI, which is done using a drag-and-drop interactive canvas. To simplify this complex process, we leveraged Generative AI capabilities. We implemented a chatbox where users can describe their needs, and the AI automatically generates the workflow for them, significantly reducing the effort and complexity involved.
Interactive analytics displaying essential metrics
Beyond merely replacing humans, AI assistants' performance can be analyzed and improved. We interviewed users and brainstormed to identify the essential metrics they wanted to see, focusing on those that would genuinely help them perform better in their daily work.

Guidance Everywhere
Since AI-focused tools weren't widely available when we launched our product, we recognized that in-platform guidance was essential for a positive user experience. We implemented numerous tutorials, added detailed descriptions throughout the interface, and provided interactive videos to guide users step-by-step.
